Even usually reliable Democrat mouthpieces couldn’t get behind this “performance.”
Everyone from CNN’s David Axelrod to MSNBC’s Symone Sanders and Michael Steele blasted their Democrats for “despicable” and “performative” behavior during President Trump’s address to the joint session of Congress Tuesday night.
Following the address, Axelrod said, “I think there were times when they should have risen. I think what Al Green did was despicable.”
Green was removed from the chamber after repeastedly heckling the president.

Meanwhile, over at MSNBC, Symone Sanders and Michael Steele blasted their party for the “bingo signs” they held throughout the address.
“The visuals are not taking back the House in 2026,” Sanders said.
“I don’t know who thought up the bingo signs, but they should be fired,” Steele added.

Late night show reactions didn’t bode much better for Democrats, with Stephen Colbert taking a jab at the signs as well; “Democrats came ready to fight back with their little paddles. That is how you save democracy: by quietly dissenting. Or bidding on an antique tea set. It was hard to tell what was going on,” he said.
