DEM DUMPSTER FIRE! New Polling Reveals Democratic Party Approval at All-Time Low: Quinnipiac

Just 19% of voters approve of how congressional Democrats are handling their jobs, according to a new national Quinnipiac poll — the lowest rating in the survey’s 16-year history.

A staggering 72% disapprove.

The Democratic Party has been in the political wilderness since November, when Republicans reclaimed the White House and Senate while holding their narrow House majority. Adding to the blow: GOP gains among Black, Hispanic, and younger voters, long considered core parts of the Democratic base.

“The approval numbers for Democrats can be characterized as flat out terrible,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said.

Meanwhile, President Trump and Republican lawmakers are enjoying strong support.

Just over three-quarters of Republicans (77%) said they approved of the way GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill were handling their jobs, with just one in five disapproving.

Forty percent of respondents approved of how Trump is handling his job as president, with 54% disapproving.
