DE BLASIO SPIRALS: Embattled Mayor Says Spike in CoVID Hospitalizations Has Nothing to do With Protests

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.05.20

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters he would be “surprised” if a recent spike in CoVID-19 hospitalizations was related to the ongoing George Floyd protests taking place in all five boroughs.

“I would be surprised if that’s what’s causing it,” de Blasio said Friday. “I think we’re much more likely in the next week [or] 10 days to see a manifestation, if there is one.”

“It is dangerous to be close together,” he admitted. “I don’t like that.”

“If you were at one of those protests, I would, out of an abundance of caution, assume that you are infected,” Governor Cuomo said Thursday. “One person, one person can infect hundreds if you were at a protest.”

DE BLASIO SPIRALS: Mayor Says NYPD Funds Will Finance ‘Broadband Internet’ in Public Housing

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.07.20

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio weighed-in Tuesday on his plan to redistribute finances from the NYPD to other agencies; saying the money will be used to expand broadband internet access in public housing.

“This takes us back to the issue of broadband, this gets us right back to the issues of broadband. That digital divide is very, very intense. 1.5 million New Yorkers lack broadband access. It’s another tale of two cities,” said De Blasio.

“This is an issue that’s been taken-up by our new internal task force on racial inclusion and equity,” he added.  “We’re on the city level going to take resources that came out of the NYPD’s capital budget and put it into broadband access for residents of public housing.”
