CUBAN CRISIS: New Video Surfaces of Cubans ‘Waiting Hours’ for a Single Loaf of Bread

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.17.18

Stunning new footage emerged from Cuba this week that highlighted the socialist regime’s escalating struggle to feed its citizens; showing residents waiting hours for a single loaf of bread at local bakeries.

“Cubans line up at bakeries across Havana, waiting hours for a loaf of bread, a basic good that has become hard to find after some important mills broke down on the island resulting in a shortage of flour,” writes the AFP.

“I came here no foot. I’m already old so imagine if I don’t eat. I have to eat something,” said one hungry woman.

BEIJING LIFELINE: Chinese ‘Medical Ship’ Arrives at Venezuela Port for Eight Day Visit

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.24.18

A Chinese medical ship, commonly known as the ‘Peace Ark,’ arrived at the Venezuelan port city of La Guaira over the weekend; delivering much-needed supplies to the once oil-rich nation.

According to Reuters, Venezuelan socialist President Nicolas Maduro requested the delivery during a recent trip to Beijing where he met with high-ranking officials with the hopes of securing aid, international funds, and military support for collapsing economy.

“China has been a major backer of Venezuela over the years, with more than a decade of oil-for-loan agreements that helped China secure energy supplies for its fast-growing economy while bolstering an anti-U.S. ally in Latin America,” writes Reuters.

Maduro came under fire last week from Venezuelans and the international community after video of the socialist president surfaced on the internet; sparking outrage as he dined on $100 steaks and smoked lavish cigars.

LETHAL LEGACY: Venezuela Marks 20 Years Since the Rise of Socialist Hugo Chavez

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.06.18

Venezuela’s starving citizens continued their struggle to survive under the socialist regime’s total failure to stem the financial crisis this week; marking roughly 20 years since Hugo Chavez’ rise to power in the once-rich nation.

“On 6 December 1998, Hugo Chávez proclaimed a new dawn of social justice and people power. ‘Venezuela’s resurrection is under way and nothing and nobody can stop it,’” writes the Guardian. “Two decades on, those dreams are in tatters.”

“The comandante is dead and his revolution in intensive care as economic, political and social chaos engulf what was once one of Latin America’s most prosperous societies. Almost 10% of Venezuela’s 31 million-strong population have fled overseas; of those who remain, nearly 90% live in poverty,” adds the author.

Stunning statistics released earlier this year show approximately 80% of Venezuelans struggle to find food on a daily basis; with two million citizens leaving the country since the collapse began in 2016.
