Texas Senator Ted Cruz slammed Rep. Joaquin Castro’s decision to publish the identities of San Antonio Trump donors this week; calling on all sides to “tone the hateful partisan rhetoric way down” in the aftermath of two mass shootings.
“EVERYONE needs to tone the hateful partisan rhetoric way down. This is WRONG & Castro should retract it. In our constitutional Republic, the People rightly hold their representatives accountable; elected representatives should not be vilifying & doxxing their own constituents,” posted Cruz on social media.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy called Castro’s post “shameful and dangerous.”
“Targeting and harassing Americans because of their political beliefs is shameful and dangerous. What happened to ‘when they go low, we go high?’ Or does that no longer matter when your brother is polling at 1%? Americans deserve better,” posted McCarthy on Twitter.
“How low have Dems sunk?” Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh tweeted. “This is Joaquin Castro, Congressman & chair of his brother’s campaign. Naming private citizens & their employers, targeting them for their political views and exercising 1st Amendment rights.”

Disturbing footage emerged on social media last month showing Tlaib being forcibly removed from a Trump campaign event in 2016.
Pres. Trump: "I watched just this morning this Tlaib from Michigan, right… There is no way she stands for the values of the people of Michigan. But I watched her this morning. She’s vicious. She’s like a crazed lunatic." https://t.co/G1g7XxPb98 pic.twitter.com/P6rPRU2v1H

“She’s like a crazed lunatic. She’s screaming, this is before she got into Congress. Who elected her? She’s screaming like a total lunatic at one of our rallies… She starts screaming, this is not a sane person. This is what we’re up against,” said Trump.

Stunning footage emerged on social media over the weekend showing now-Representative Rashida Tlaib being forcibly removed from a Donald Trump event in Michigan back in August 2016.
“Years before Rep. Rashida Tlaib was speaking out against President Trump in Congress, she was shouting at him as Secret Service members dragged her out of a meeting at the Detroit Economic Club,” reports Fox News.
“Video of the August 2016 incident, which has gone viral since resurfacing over the weekend, shows the current congresswoman shouting as then-candidate Trump delivered a speech before business leaders. While being escorted out of the room, she continued to jump and yell at those in attendance,” adds Fox.

TARGETING TRUMP VOTERS: Castro Defends Decision to Publish GOP Donors, Says Funds ‘Fueling Hate’
Rep. Joaquin Castro doubled-down on his decision to publicly publish the names of GOP supporters in San Antonio, Texas Wednesday; viciously accusing Texas Republicans of “fueling hate.”
“Rep. Joaquin Castro, the brother and campaign chairman of 2020 presidential hopeful Julian Castro, continued to defend his tweet that listed the names and employers of prominent Trump donors in the San Antonio, Texas area,” reports Fox News.
“You’re giving money for somebody that’s going after a community and people have gotten killed because of that,” Castro told MSNBC News.
“Unless you support the white nationalism and the racism that Donald Trump is paying for and fueling, then I hope you, as a person of good conscience, will think twice about contributing to his campaign,” he added.
