Follow the money and you’ll find the movement.
The Trump administration is ramping up efforts to trace the funding behind Antifa and other protest movements, launching what officials describe as a coordinated campaign to expose nonprofit and dark-money networks believed to be fueling organized unrest nationwide.
President Donald Trump hosted a White House roundtable on Wednesday with independent journalists who have witnessed Antifa’s violence firsthand — part of his administration’s broader initiative to confront domestic extremism head-on.
Among the attendees was Seamus Bruner, research director at the Government Accountability Institute, who said the administration’s “whole-of-government” operation is now fully active.
“President Trump is taking it very seriously,” Bruner said, adding that Trump personally directed Attorney General Pam Bondi, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and FBI Director Kash Patel to follow the money trail.
Bruner argued that unmasking Antifa means exposing its finances.
“It’s not just Antifa,” he said. “There’s a whole ecosystem of radical, professional protesting organizations — what we call Riot Inc. — structured like a corporation with divisions for boots on the ground, marketing, PR, and legal support.”
He also pointed to bail-fund networks that enable repeat offenders to quickly return to the streets, citing GAI investigations showing coordination across cities like Portland, Seattle, and Chicago, often involving paid and transported participants, including exploited homeless individuals.
Bruner named several major funding streams — including George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, the Tides Foundation, and Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss — as key backers in what he described as a well-financed network driving unrest under the guise of activism.

President Donald Trump also directed his Cabinet to pursue designating Antifa a foreign terrorist organization, escalating his administration’s crackdown on the decentralized group.
