During Wednesday’s White House press briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was questioned about President Biden’s seemingly early exit from a Medal of Honor ceremony on Tuesday; Biden was blasted on social media for disrespecting the military.
That was all according to plan, says KJP.
“To start with the ceremony…the President took off his mask, as I said he would, to deliver very powerful remarks about this Captain —Captain Taylor. And what he did in service of our nation,” KJP told the White House briefing room. “And for a brief time afterward he didn’t have his mask on…and he left, as planned, as it was planned when there was a pause in the program to minimize his contact with attendees.”
Despite her saying so, KJP did not give the press corps prior knowledge of Biden’s exit or mask removal.
Biden has been wearing a mask on and off since First Lady Dr. Jill Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19 for the 2nd time on Monday.
