Fetterman says reopening the government is what’s “appropriate right now.”

While speaking with Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany over the weekend, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman explained why he continues to vote to reopen the government.

“The party is going to go its own way but I’m going ot go my way and I’m going to fight for wins in Pennsylvania,” Fetterman said. “There are issues that I’m going to agree with and align with on the Republican side, like Israel … and I also feel very strong that we have to secure our border — I was co-sponsor on the Laken Riley bill.”

“I’m in a minority that I think it’s wrong to shut our government down right now … but I’m always going to vote country over party. I’m always going to vote for paying for the military and those things because I think that’s what’s appropriate right now.”

“I’m going to call balls and strikes,” Fetterman added. “It’s an easy, easy choice to pick my country over the party — especially in circumstances like this.
