CORTEZ: We Should Use Social Media to Show ‘Government is a Real Thing’

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.21.18

Incoming Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said this week she plans on using her social media accounts to “humanize” the federal government; saying Instagram and Twitter can be used to “make it real” for millions of Americans.

Cortez was speaking with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes when she weighed-in on her recent posts using social media to highlight her first few days in Washington, DC; adding “I think it’s really important when we actually show people that government is a real thing.”

“I think it’s so important that we humanize our government. I’ve spoken about this before, about making it real, because a lot of times we’ll tune in to cable news or watch what’s going on on TV. And all we’re reading about is bills and all we’re reading about is legislation or the political dynamics,” said Cortez.

Liberal superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez left American voters scratching their heads this week; bizarrely citing National Parks and eating breakfast sandwiches as examples of Democratic Socialism.

Cortez posted the strange comments on social media after returning from a “few days off” spent at Acadia National Park; citing the nature preserve and “supporting worker-owned businesses” as American “examples of Democratic Socialism.”

Cortez’ comments come just days after she came under fire for banning press and journalists from a series of town hall events; adding the speaking engagements were considered “sanctuary spaces.”

CORTEZ CONFUSION: Cortez Looks Forward to Her ‘Inauguration,’ Can’t Wait to 'Sign' Laws

Socialist superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez left New York voters scratching their heads this week; bizarrely suggesting she will be “inaugurated” should she win her Congressional race and will eventually be “signing” bills into law.

Cortez was speaking with supporters Tuesday when she hailed the progressive movement that ushered her towards the Democratic Party’s nomination earlier this year; saying “what we have accomplished is such a massive responsibility.”

“That is the situation we have in our governance… There’s a lot of folks who don’t want to believe anymore. That’s why what we have accomplished is such a massive responsibility,” said the Democratic hopeful.

“It doesn’t mean you get everything tomorrow. As much as I would love that, I would love to get inaugurated January 3rd [and] January 4th we are signing health care, we’re signing this,” she added.
