COMING HOME: Remains of 22 US Soldiers Killed in Brutal WWII Battle Return to USA

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.19.19

The remains of more than 20 American soldiers killed in a brutal battle during World War 2 returned home Friday; ending decades of uncertainly for hundreds of family members across the country.

“An Air Force plane carrying the remains of 22 who died during the Battle of Tarawa in 1943 – which took place on and around the remote island of Betio in the Pacific – landed Wednesday at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. The caskets containing the remains, which were draped in American flags, were then carried off the aircraft by Marines as part of a ceremony,” reports Fox News.

“We welcome home more than 20 American servicemen still unaccounted for from the battle of Tarawa during World War II,” Acting Defense Secretary Richard V. Spencer said. “We do not forget those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and it is our duty and obligation to return our missing home to their families and the nation.”

“Forensic archaeologists from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) are now working to identify the remains and notify the next of kin, the Defense Department says. They are believed to belong to members of the 6th Marine Regiment who died during the last day of the 76-hour battle, the Associated Press reports,” adds Fox.

The human remains were discovered last March by non-profit organization History Flight; a group that has repatriated hundreds of deceased soldiers since 2015.

ANOTHER NEW DEAL? Warren Proposes Using US MILITARY to Combat Climate Change

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.20.19

Firebrand Senator and potential 2020 presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren unveiled her latest proposal to combat climate change Monday; suggesting the use of the US military to confront global warming.

“In short, climate change is real, it is worsening by the day, and it is undermining our military readiness. And instead of meeting this threat head-on, Washington is ignoring it — and making it worse,” writes Warren in an op-ed published by Medium.

“We have the most capable military in the world. It’s also the single largest government consumer of energy, and it’s dependent on fossil fuels. The Pentagon spends about $4 billion a year to power its bases at fixed locations and consumes tens of billions of barrels of fuel per year,” she adds.

“Nibbling around the edges of the problem is no longer enough — the urgency of the moment demands more. That’s why today I am introducing my Defense Climate Resiliency and Readiness Act to harden the U.S. military against the threat posed by climate change, and to leverage its huge energy footprint as part of our climate solution,” concludes Warren.

The far-left Senator’s comments come weeks after she unveiled a series of new government programs that economists say will cost US taxpayers trillions per year.

“If we put a 2% tax on the wealthiest families in the country, we can provide universal Pre-K, universal free college, knock back student loan debt for 95% of Americans—and still have a trillion dollars leftover,” claimed Warren on social media.

According to leading economists, the Senator’s proposal to forgive student loan debt and introduce tuition-free public colleges would cost over $1.25 trillion over the next decade.

‘SALUTE TO AMERICA’: Trump to Deliver National Address on 4th of July, Military Fly-Over of US Capitol

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.19.19

President Trump will address the nation on the 4th of July in an official ‘Solute to America,’ celebrating the USA’s independence with a firework show accompanied by a military fly-over of the nation’s Capitol.

“There is no more appropriate place to celebrate the anniversary of American independence than among the Nation’s monuments on the National Mall and the memorials to the service men and women who have defended the United States for the past 243 years,” said Department of the Interior Secretary Bernhardt. “For the first time in many years, the World War II Memorial and areas around the Reflecting Pool will be open for the public to enjoy a stunning fireworks display and an address by our Commander-in-Chief. We are excited to open these new areas so that more visitors may experience this year’s Independence Day celebration in our nation’s capital.”

“Additionally, this year for the first time in recent memory, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, the World War II Memorial and Constitution Gardens will each be accessible and available as a location from which to view the fireworks. These prime viewing areas are now outside of the fireworks safety zone due to the fireworks launch site being moved from the Reflecting Pool to West Potomac Park. The change of locations also means that the Signers of the Declaration of Independence Memorial will be accessible to the public on Independence Day. In previous years it had been closed due to the old fireworks safety zone,” adds the press release.

The announcement comes just hours after President Trump officially kicked-off his 2020 re-election campaign in Orlando, Florida.

President Trump shattered fundraising records less than 24 hours after officially announcing his 2020 campaign; taking in more than $24.8 million in the first day of his re-election run for the White House.

@realDonaldTrump has raised a record breaking $24.8M in less than 24 hours for his re-election. The enthusiasm across the country for this President is unmatched and unlike anything we’ve ever seen!” posted GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel.

President Trump confirmed this week that more than 100,000 people requested passes to hear his high-stakes speech in Orlando Tuesday night; with massive lines forming hours before the Commander-in-Chief is set to kick-off his 2020 re-election campaign.

“It was a sea of red under the sweltering sun Tuesday as thousands of Trump supporters, decked out in MAGA-inspired attire, waited outside the Amway Center hours before the president’s arrival,” reports Fox News.
