Morning Joe host Joe Scarbourgh said on Tuesday that Republicans need to be careful with speech censorship because it could come back around if Democrats return to power.
“What some Republicans did seem to understand is that right now, this is being used against speech that Republicans don’t like — but they aren’t going to be in the White House forever,” the MSNBC host said. “Some Republicans understood…what we’re doing to them right now, they will do to us!”
“This is shortsighted. This makes no sense,” Scarborough said.
Conservative accounts on X were quick to share the Joe clip and remind the host that Democrats already carried out a massive speech censorship campaign under President Joe Biden — one that involved deplatforming and the suppression of conservative viewpoints.

At almost the same moment, Scarborough was sharing his warning for the GOP, Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan shared the following post on X.
“Due to our oversight efforts, GOOGLE commits to offer ALL creators previously kicked off YouTube due to political speech violations to return to the platform.”
