Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and a delegation of Dems were shouted down and drowned out while making remarks after surveying the NYC migrant crisis outside of a hotel in Manhattan.
“My name is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I’m here alongside Representative Adriano Espaillat, and we’re incredibly thrilled and excited to be here…” Ocasio-Cortez started saying before being met with shouts of “close the border” and “send them back!”
“We have geographic diversity here, including representatives from California, Texas, Illinois and New Jersey,” she added.
“Close the border! Close the border! Respect the constitution AOC! I am your constituent!” a man was then heard shouting into a megaphone.
“And what we seek to do is to make sure that all the resources are necessary and that we are joining with the city and state” Ocasio-Cortez continued saying before man wielding the megaphone shouted over her, saying “Illegal immigration is not right! Respect the constitution, close the border!”
