CAPITAL CHAOS: Shock Poll Shows 71% of DC Police Officers ‘Considering Leaving the Force’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.21.20

A shock poll published in the Washington Examiner Friday showed a stunning 71% of Police Officers in Washington, DC are considering leaving the force after the City Council passed a controversial reform bill.

“According to the survey of 600 local law enforcement members, of the 71% considering leaving, 25% may retire earlier than planned, 35% are seeking jobs at other law enforcement agencies, and 39% are considering leaving law enforcement altogether,” reports the Examiner.

“Additionally, 96% of those members polled said they believe crime will increase, and 88% said officer safety will plunge,” adds the website.

“The D.C. Police Union remains steadfastly committed to important discussions on police reform and is always willing to be on the cutting edge of responsible and professional policing, but the idea that our department has systemic racism which manifests itself in brutality and civil rights violations is preposterous,” the D.C. Police Union said in a statement.

CHICAGO SPIRALS: City Asks Cops to Work 12 Hour Shifts, NO DAYS OFF, As Leaders Vow to ‘Defund Police’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.16.20

Leaders in Chicago are now asking law enforcement officials to work 12-hour shifts with no days off while pledging to “Defund the Police Department” in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd.

Police officers are being demanded to go above and beyond their typical call of duty to handle ongoing protests and unrest, even as political figures are calling for their departments to be defunded or abolished entirely. In Chicago, officers were reportedly ordered to work 12-hour shifts with no days off until further notice. All the while, critics — including elected officials — want to strip them of funding,” reports Fox News.

“This police system in Chicago and in the country is beyond repair, and so it’s absolutely within reason for people to say that we should tear this system down and start over,” Democratic state Rep. LaShawn Ford of Chicago told reporters

“The Chicago order took effect as tension is still high in the country following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis after a white cop kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes, and two days after Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed by a police officer in Atlanta on Friday — in what was ruled a homicide,” adds Fox.

DE BLASIO SPIRALS: 2 NYPD Shot, 1 Stabbed, Mayor Says Protests Remind Him of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.04.20

Two members of the NYPD were shot in Brooklyn overnight Monday and another officer stabbed in the neck as protesters defied an 8pm curfew imposed by beleaguered Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“The melee unfolded when a suspect approached a cop on Church Avenue near Flatbush Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. and stabbed him in the neck, a police source said,” reports the New York Post.

Meanwhile, the mayor faced a growing backlash after saying the violent situation reminded him of John Lennon’s utopian anthem ‘Imagine.’

“I don’t mean to make light of this. But I’m reminded of the song ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon. We played it at my inauguration! What about a world where people got along differently? What about a world where we didn’t live with a lot of the restrictions that we live with now,” said De Blasio. “We’re not there yet. The protest movement themselves is how we make progress!”
