At least 29 people are dead and hundreds are missing as rescuers and first responders continue to search for victims of one of the deadliest wildfires in California history.
According to the Associated Press, strong winds and dry weather are expected to make the inferno worse in the coming days; creating new difficulties for firefighters and rescue crews.
“A total of 29 bodies have been found so far from that fire, Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea told a news briefing Sunday evening. He said 228 people were still unaccounted for,” writes the AP.
California Governor Jerry Brown spoke with reporters this week; saying climate-change “deniers” are “contributing to the tragedies.”
“Managing all the forests everywhere we can does not stop climate change,” Brown said. “And those who deny that are definitely contributing to the tragedies that we’re now witnessing, and will continue to witness in the coming years.”

SCHIFF UNGLUED: Adam Schiff Blames California Forest Fires... On TRUMP, CLIMATE CHANGE
Leading Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff took his all-out war against the Trump administration to the next level Tuesday, bizarrely blaming President Trump and “climate change” for the devastating forest fires sweeping California.
Schiff made the baseless accusation on social media Tuesday afternoon, saying the President’s lack of a “science advisor” since taking office was somehow responsible for the naturally occurring phenomenon.
“You’ve been in office for 18 LONG months and you still don’t have a science adviser, so allow me to help. Environmental protections have nothing to do with the wildfires in CA. Climate change does. We’re not going to let you use fires as an excuse to clear-cut our forests,” he tweeted.

Schiff’s comments come just hours after the President said California’s government and environmental policies were making it difficult for authorities to help control the mass blaze.
CALIFORNIA CHAOS: ‘Free Syringes’ FLOOD San Francisco Streets
San Francisco continued its struggle with rising homelessness and rampant drug use this week, with local residents complaining about the flood of ‘free syringes’ littering the city streets and public areas.
According to Yahoo News, Bay Area officials distribute millions of needs per year to the city’s growing drug users but have “no control” over how they are disposed or discarded; prompting a “flood” of used syringes throughout San Francisco.
“The city distributes an estimated 400,000 syringes each month through various programs aimed at reducing HIV and other health risks for drug users. About 246,000 syringes are discarded through the city’s 13 syringe access and disposal sites. But thousands of the others end up on streets, in parks and other public areas, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday,” writes Yahoo.
To help stem the flow of dirty needles onto the streets, San Francisco Mayor Farrell hired ten full-time employees to patrol the city; removing used syringes according to proper medical guidelines detailed by the Department of Sanitation.
