US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley slammed the New York Times over a recent article that falsely implied the diplomat had purchased $50,000 curtains for her New York residence; saying the newspaper “knew the facts” in advance but published anyway.
Haley was speaking with Fox News when she was asked to comment on the misleading article just days after the Times was forced to issue a major correction and alter the phony headline.

BUSTED! NY Times Suggests Nikki Haley Bought $52k Curtains, Actually Purchased by Obama Admin
The New York Times found itself in hot-water from readers across the country Friday after the newspaper published an extremely misleading headline regarding UN ambassador Nikki Haley.
The Times published an article Thursday titled “Nikki Haley’s View of New York Is Priceless. Her Curtains? $52,701,” suggesting the ambassador purchased lavish curtains for her New York City residence.
“The State Department bought the custom, mechanized curtains for Ms. Haley’s New York resident during a time of cost-cutting,” adds the author.

It isn’t until six paragraphs later that the author admits the window dressings were actually purchased in 2016 and authorized by the Obama administration.
“This seems like a pretty important paragraph that we should get to the bottom of before calling them ‘Nikki Haley’s $52,000 curtains,’” writes a reporter for the Washington Post.

ECHO CHAMBER: Dem Rep Calls for Probe into Nikki Haley After PHONY HEADLINE
Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu called on his Congressional colleagues to launch an investigation into Nikki Haley and the State Department’s budget this week; saying “this is not okay” after citing a debunked New York Times headline surrounding the Ambassador.
“This is not okay. As a Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I call on @HouseForeign Chairman @RepEdRoyce to hold an oversight hearing on @StateDept spending on @nikkihaley and her deputy,” tweeted the Congressman Thursday night.

Lieu fails to mention the article -while suggesting Haley purchased $52,000 curtains for her New York residence- admits six paragraphs later that the window-dressings were approved in 2016 by the Obama administration.
Well @tedlieu, did you read the article? If you did you would have seen the fact that the 6th paragraph states:
"A spokesman for Ms. Haley said plans to buy the curtains were made in 2016, during the Obama administration. Ms. Haley had no say in the purchase, he said."
