Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy found himself in hot-water on social media this week; seemingly flipping his entire political position regarding the Middle East in just three days.
“The attack on our embassy in Baghdad is horrifying but predictable. Trump has rendered America impotent in the Middle East. No one fears us, no one listens to us. America has been reduced to huddling in safe rooms, hoping the bad guys will go away. What a disgrace,” posted Murphy on December 31st.

Murphy changed his position three days later following an American airstrike against an Iranian general; suggesting the Trump administration was now “knowingly setting off a potential war.”
Soleimani was an enemy of the United States. That’s not a question.
The question is this – as reports suggest, did America just assassinate, without any congressional authorization, the second most powerful person in Iran, knowingly setting off a potential massive regional war?

BREAKING: US Embassy Stormed in Baghdad, Crowd Chants ‘Down USA!’ Trump Says Iran Behind Attack
A crowd of dozens of Iran-backed protesters stormed the US embassy in Baghdad Tuesday; crashing a gate while chanting “Down, Down USA!” in response to American airstrikes targeting militants in the region.
“Iran killed an American contractor, wounding many. We strongly responded, and always will. Now Iran is orchestrating an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. They will be held fully responsible. In addition, we expect Iraq to use its forces to protect the Embassy, and so notified!” posted President Trump on Twitter.

“The embassy attack, one of the worst in recent memory, followed deadly U.S. airstrikes on Sunday that killed 25 fighters of the Iran-backed group, the Kataeb Hezbollah. The U.S. military said the airstrikes were in retaliation for last week’s killing of an American contractor in a rocket attack on an Iraqi military base that it had blamed on the militia,” reports Fox News.

GRAHAM ON EMBASSY ATTACK: ‘There Will Be No Benghazis on Trump’s Watch’
Senator Lindsey Graham responded to the recent attack on the US Embassy in Iraq Tuesday; telling officials in Tehran there will be “no Benghazis” under President Trump’s watch.
To the Iranian government:
Be careful what you wish for — a country that depends on the ability to refine oil for its existence needs to be cautious.

To our Iraqi allies:
This is your moment to convince the American people the US-Iraq relationship is meaningful to you and worth protecting.
Protect our American personnel. You will not regret it.
