BUFFALO BACKLASH! Cuomo in Hot-Water After Saying Chicken Wings ‘Not Substantial’ Enough to Open Bars

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.27.20

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo faced a social media backlash Friday after saying ‘Chicken Wings’ are not considered “substantive food” by the government to allow bars to serve alcohol.

In the state of New York, bars must serve “substantive food products” to be able to serve drinks to patrons.

“To be a bar, you have to have food available. Soups, sandwiches, etc. More than chicken wings, you have to have some substantive food. The lowest level of substantive food is sandwiches,” said Cuomo.

“Earlier today, Governor Cuomo said chicken wings are not substantial food for bars to be allowed to sell alcohol. He added that sandwiches were the ‘lowest level’ of substantive food,” posted a local reporter from Buffalo, NY.

AOC: New York Gov Cuomo’s Response ‘Creating a Class and Race Issue’ During Coronavirus Crisis

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.31.20

Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez singled-out New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Tuesday; accusing the top Democrat of “creating a class and race issue” during the Coronavirus crisis.

“If you called for a suspension or moratorium on mortgage payments, then we should also call for that same treatment on rent payments,” said Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.

“We’re kind of creating a class and race issue. We’re essentially rewarding and offering preferential treatment to landowners and folks who are more wealthy, and we’re not offering that same kind of relief to renters,” she added.

“I think our policy answers it,” Cuomo said Monday. “You cannot be evicted for non-payment of rent. It’s not that you won’t owe rent at one time, right, because you signed a contract. Even the people to whom you pay the rent have to pay the rent, right, and they have expenses. So, no evictions for nonpayment of rent and then we’ll see where we are and we’ll see how long this goes on.”

BAD APPLES: NY Officials Blame RIDERS for ‘Crowded’ and ‘Smelly’ Subway System

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.21.18

New York officials deflected recent critiques against the nation’s largest subway system this week; publicly blaming riders for “smelly” and “overcrowded” trains and stations that service over five million people per day.

According to the Wall Street Journal, officials at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority are launching a new campaign to inform riders how to improve the massive transit system; urging users to “be patient” and refrain from cramming into already-crowded trains.

“You want reliable transit. We want to give it you,” said MTA subway boss Andy Byford. “You have a part to play in this.”

“That’s ridiculous,” said one subway rider. “What’s causing the delays is their incompetence.”

“Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency last year following a pileup of rush-hour disruptions and a subway derailment that injured dozens. The MTA is spending more than $800 million fixing and cleaning tracks and upgrading signals,” writes the WSJ.
