A teacher in Broward County, Florida reportedly found a container labeled “provisional ballot box” in a school’s storage room this week; raising serious questions over the Sunshine State’s likely recount of pivotal Senate and Governor races.
According to the New York Post, Lakeisha Williams claims she discovered the box two days after Election Day at Miramar Elementary School; apparently left behind by county staffers.
“I went into the area that we use for storage and saw it in there,” Williams told The Post.
The teacher says she did not touch or open the box, but handed the material over to local authorities.
“I don’t know where it is now,” Williams confirmed.
“The state’s races for US Senate and governor have tightened to a difference of less than 0.5 percent — potentially triggering an automatic recount,” writes the Post. “Republican Gov. Rick Scott led democratic incumbent Bill Nelson by just 17,000 votes — or 0.2 percent — for the Senate seat on Thursday.”

DEMOCRAT DO-OVER? Liberal Senator Urges Activists to ‘Get Down to Florida’ if There’s No Recount
Democrat Senator Chris Murphy urged liberal activists across the country to “adjust their schedules” and “get down to Florida” if Republicans “stop all ballots from being counted.”
Murphy posted his comments on social media after state officials weighed a manual recount after Republican Rick Scott held a slight lead over Democrat Bill Nelson.
“Republicans will try to use the courts to shut down a full recount. Just get ready for this – adjust your schedules bc we may all have to get down to Florida if they try to to use the courts to stop all ballots from being counted,” tweeted the left-wing lawmaker.

The move echoes similar comments from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, who demanded that “every vote” be counted and urged supporters to contact their local County Supervisors.

“Because if you look at Broward County, they have had a horrible history. And if you look at the person, in this case a woman, involved, she has had a horrible history, and all of a sudden, they’re finding votes out of nowhere and Rick Scott, who won by…a comfortable margin but close every couple hours it goes down a little bit.”
