BREAKING THE PAW: Cops Jokingly Share K-9 Officer's Mugshot After a Lunch Vanishes in the Break Room

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.26.23

This dog’s got it “ruff.”

According to a Fox News report, a K-9 officer in Michigan is suspected of gobbling up another officer’s lunch after it was left briefly unattended in the break room; the Wyandotte Police Department (WPD) shared the news on Facebook.

From the Wyandotte Police Department:

Stealing is not only a crime but it is morally wrong too. Some jobs, like that of being a police officer, require you to take an oath prior to starting. Within the officer’s sworn oath is the promise to protect person’s property.

That being said, it saddens me to report that a current officer of the Wyandotte Police Department is under investigation for stealing!

The incident happened two days ago at the station. Ofc. Barwig was eating lunch in the breakroom when he was called to assist with a person in the WPD jail. He quickly jumped into service, leaving his half-eaten lunch on the table. A short while later Barwig and another officer returned to the breakroom only to find Ofc. Ice leisurely strolling out of the room licking his chops. Barwig’s entire lunch was gone….disappeared, vanished!

Ofc. Ice has invoked his fifth amendment right to remain silent and quite frankly is not cooperating with the investigation. He has a history of rummaging through trash cans that are within his reach. There have been several other accusations of him taking food right from coworker’s hands as they walk by.

WPD will consider our Facebook followers opinions on how to proceed with this investigation.

From Fox News:

As the post stated, Officer Barwig was in the middle of his lunch when he was called into the WPD jail for assistance.

Upon his return, Barwig’s lunch had vanished and Ice was seen leaving the break room while “licking his chop,” according to the WPD’s post, which was shared on Facebook 11,000 times.

The presumed guilty party, Ice, has garnered quite the following since his story spread across social media platforms.

“The response from the Facebook post was great,” Chief Brian Zalewski of the WPD told Fox News Digital. “There was an immediate defense of Ice and calls for the department charges to be dismissed.”

“Since Ice has been with our police department for so long, he is well known and loved in our community,” Zalewski added. “People coming to his defense was immediate.”

Many Facebook users came forward saying they would defend the pup “pro-bone-o.”

If convicted, Ice could serve one year, or seven dog years, as a “bad boy.”
