BREAKING: Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer Announces Retirement

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.26.22

83-year old Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has announced his plans to retire; he will step down at the end of the current Supreme Court term later this year.

Breyer’s retirement will be President Biden’s first opportunity to nominate someone to the Supreme Court, but with congress nearly deadlocked along partisan lines, it may be a difficult task. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has already prepared a “no comment” tweet.

“It has always been the decision of any Supreme Court Justice if and when they decide to retire, and how they want to announce it, and that remains the case today. We have no additional details or information to share from @WhiteHouse,” she tweeted.

Breyer was appointed by President Bill Clinton and has served on the court since 1994.
