Congressman Devin Nunes filed a lawsuit this week against CNN; claiming the news network promoted a false story concerning the Representative and Ukrainian officials.
“Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) filed a defamation suit against CNN on Tuesday over a story reporting that the Republican congressman had traveled to Vienna, Austria, to meet with foreign officials and discuss finding dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden (D),” reports The Hill.
“The Washington Times first reported Tuesday that Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, had filed a $435 million lawsuit arguing that the network had defamed him by falsely reporting he had traveled to Vienna and met with a Ukrainian prosecutor,” adds the website.
“CNN is the mother of fake news. It is the least trusted name. CNN is eroding the fabric of America, proselytizing, sowing distrust and disharmony. It must be held accountable,” the documents stated.

CNN SUES: CNN Files Lawsuit Against President Trump Over Acosta’s Press Pass
CNN filed a lawsuit this week against President Trump and several top aides after White House correspondent Jim Acosta had his press pass removed over a contentious briefing where he refused to hand the microphone to a young intern.
According to the cable news network, the suit targets Trump, chief of staff John Kelly, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Bill Shine, and the director of the Secret Service.
“CNN filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration this morning in DC District Court,” read a statement from the network. “It demands the return of the White House credentials of CNN’s Chief White House correspondent, Jim Acosta. The wrongful revocation of these credentials violates CNN and Acosta’s First Amendment rights of freedom of the press, and their Fifth Amendment rights to due process. We have asked this court for an immediate restraining order requiring the pass be returned to Jim, and will seek permanent relief as part of this process.”
