Failed Texas Senate hopeful Beto O’Rourke unloaded on the Trump administration’s handling of the ‘migrant caravan’ this week; baselessly asserting the White House was “locking” children in “cages.”
Beto posted his incendiary remarks online just hours after dozens of migrants were apprehended after storming the US border and hurling rocks at American authorities.
It should tell us something about her home country that a mother is willing to travel 2,000 miles with her 4-month old son to come here. How we respond when she arrives tells us something about ours. https://t.co/hrsfjh3drv

“It should tell us something about her home country that a mother is willing to travel 2,000 miles with her 4-month old son to come here,” O’Rourke posted.
“[It] should tell us something about our country that we only respond to this desperate need once she is at our border,” O’Rourke continued. “So far, in this administration, that response has included taking kids from their parents, locking them up in cages, and now tear gassing them at the border.
“People are leaving violent countries where they fear for their lives,” he added. “Without money, they are subsisting on hope for their kids, for themselves, that they can get to safety. After being denied the ability to lawfully petition for asylum for the last 10 days, they are desperate.
CARAVAN CHAOS: Federal Judge BLOCKS Trump’s Asylum Ban at Southern Border
A federal judge in San Francisco abruptly blocked the Trump administration’s crackdown on asylum seekers entering the country through the United States’ southern border Monday night; setting the stage for a potential legal battle that could reach the Supreme Court.
According to Fox News, “U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar, who was nominated by President Obama in 2012 to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, issued a temporary restraining order after hearing arguments in San Francisco.”
“Individuals are entitled to asylum if they cross between ports of entry. It couldn’t be clearer,” said one attorney opposed to the Trump administration’s revised guidelines.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed this week that 70,000 people per year apply for asylum at “ports of entry” across the United States; including border crossings in Arizona, California, and Texas.

CARAVAN CHAOS: Mexicans PROTEST Central American Migrants as Thousands Arrive in Tijuana
Hundreds of Mexican protesters chanted “Out!” and publicly demonstrated against thousands of Central American Migrants pouring into the region; setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown between Mexican authorities, American border agents, and the approaching immigrants.
According to the Associated Press, “Hundreds of Tijuana residents congregated around a monument in an affluent section of the city south of California on Sunday to protest the thousands of Central American migrants who have arrived via caravan in hopes of a new life in the U.S.”
US Border Patrol Agents are reportedly processing 100 asylum claims per day as the migrant caravan stalls throughout Tijuana.
“They accused the migrants of being messy, ungrateful and a danger to Tijuana. They also complained about how the caravan forced its way into Mexico, calling it an ‘invasion.’ And they voiced worries that their taxes might be spent to care for the group,” adds the AP.
