Vermont Senator and 2020 Democratic frontrunner Bernie Sanders’ new proposals will likely cost upwards of $20,000 per American taxpayer, according to a nonpartisan group focused on the US budget and deficit.
“Maya MacGuineas, the president of independent and bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, warned on ‘Fox and Friends’ Tuesday morning that Bernie Sanders’ proposed policies could cost $20,000 per taxpayer,” reports Fox News.
“I don’t know whether they plan to finance all of that or add that to the very large national debt, but the costs are certainly high. I know trillion is kind of hard to get your arms around. But when you bring it down per taxpayer, we are talking more than $20,000 increase in taxes,” said the group’s leader.
“If you look at healthcare, free tuition, family leave, child care – those proposals will all have a price tag of over $20,000 per taxpayer,” MacGuineas added.

BERNIECARE: Sanders Unveils ‘Medicare for All’ Plan, Will Eliminate Private Insurance, Cost $30T
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders unveiled his latest ‘Medicare for All’ proposal Wednesday; announcing his plan to transform Medicare into a full-fledged universal healthcare program during a four-year transition that would eliminate private insurance companies.
“Sanders’ plan is the most ambitious by far of Democrats’ slate of bills aimed at expanding health coverage, proposing a total restructuring of the the national health care system that would effectively eliminate employer sponsored insurance and other government programs like Medicaid,” reports Politico.
Sanders’ plan would also bar employers and businesses from providing healthcare options that compete with the government-run insurance scheme.
While the proposal doesn’t specify the associated costs, experts say the program would likely cost $30 trillion over the next decade.

BERNIECARE: Sen. Sanders Calls for SUBSIDIZED CHILD CARE for Every Parent in the US
Vermont Senator and self-described Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders raised eyebrows throughout Washington Tuesday; urging his congressional colleagues to provide subsidized child care for every parent in the United States.
Sanders called for another massive federal entitlement program on social media this week, saying “Child care should not cost parents more than sending their kids to college. We need a revolution in child care in this country.”
