During Wednesday’s RFK Jr. confirmation hearing on the Hill, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders prepared two giant posters of baby onesies with anti-vaccine slogans on them and proceeded to scream at Donald Trump’s HHS nominee.
“These are little things — clothing for babies,” Sanders began. “One of them says, ‘Unvaxxed, Unafraid.’ They sell for $26 a piece, by the way. Another says, ‘No Vax, No Problem.’ Now, you’re coming before this committee and you say you’re pro-vaccine and yet your organization is selling a child’s product to parents for $26 which casts fundamental doubt on the usefulness of vaccines.”
“Senator, I have no power over that organization,” Kennedy answered, citing that he resigned.
The back-and-forth degenerated into Sanders yelling, “ARE YOU SUPPORTIVE OF THESE ONESIES?” while Kennedy chuckled at how absurd the hearing had become.
