“Today we talk about justice, today we talk about racism. I must tell you it gives me no pleasure to tell you that we now have a President of the United States who is a racist,” said Sanders.
“What a president is supposed to do is bring us together. We have a president intentionally, purposely trying to divide us up by the color of our skin, by our gender, by the country we came from, by our religion,” he added.
BERNIE 2020? Sanders Says He 'MAY RUN' Against Donald Trump in 2020
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders raised eyebrows throughout Democratic circles this week; saying the “simple truth” is that he hasn’t “made the decision” on whether he plans to take on President Trump in the 2020 race for the White House.
Sanders was speaking at a candidates forum when he was asked if he was prepared to “pledge” to serve a six-year term should he be re-elected to the United States Senate.
“Right now, my focus is on the year 2018, but if you’re asking me to make an absolute pledge as to whether I’ll be running for president or not, I’m not going to make that pledge,” Sanders said. “The simple truth is I have not made that decision. But I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I may not run. I may. But on the other hand, I may not.”
BERNIE GOES OFF: Sanders Thanks DC Liberals for Advancing ‘EXTREMIST IDEAS’
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders raised eyebrows throughout the nation’s capital Wednesday, thanking DC liberals for transforming “radical” and “extremist ideas” into “mainstream American ideas.”
Sanders was speaking at the ‘We the People’ summit in Washington, DC when he praised those in attendance for helping to advance his liberal message, saying his supporters have brought those “fringe ideas” to the masses.
“Many of the ideas that we talked about were thought to be fringe ideas, radical ideas, extremist ideas,” said the Vermont Senator. “Well, you know what? Because of your efforts, those ideas are mainstream American ideas.”
“I want to thank all of the groups here, because whether you know it or not, you have helped transform this country in so many ways,” he added.
