BAD HORSE SENSE: Email Bombshell Reveals Mayorkas Knew Agents Didn't Whip Migrants, Condemned Them Anyway

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.12.22

According to a Fox News exclusive, Department of Homeland Security and complete border failure Alejandro Mayorkas knew that Border Patrol Agents didn’t whip Haitian migrants crossing the Rio Grande last year —but he went with the story anyway.

At the time, liar Mayorkas described the non-event as “horrifying.”

“Our nation saw horrifying images that do not reflect who we are. We know that those images painfully conjured up the worst elements of our nation’s ongoing battle against systemic racism,” Mayorkas said.

From Fox News:

The Sept. 24, 2021 email, obtained by the Heritage Foundation via a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA), shines light onto internal deliberations surrounding the controversy in Del Rio, Texas, where Democrats and the White House pushed a narrative that migrants had been “whipped” or “strapped” by Border Patrol agents despite it being quickly debunked.

In fact, agents were using split reins to control their houses as migrants rushed across the river. But a narrative, based on a misinterpretation of photographs, was running and on Sept. 24 was further fueled by President Biden.

“To see people treated like they did, horses barely running over, people being strapped — it’s outrageous,” Biden told reporters at the time, making a whipping motion with his hand. “I promise you, those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now, and there will be consequences. There will be consequences.”

Fox News border correspondent Bill Melugin shared more information on Twitter.

“NEW: Email reveals DHS Secretary Mayorkas was alerted by DHS’ top public affairs official that the ‘whipping’ narrative behind horseback BP photos wasn’t true, but at a WH press conference 2.5 hours later, he didn’t refute that narrative, instead calling the images ‘horrifying.'”
