Angry members of the left are attacking Elon Musk for his Twitter purchase, accusing the world’s richest man of not paying his fair share in taxes. Sensible folks on Twitter were quick to share the fact that Musk paid $11 billion in taxes last year —the largest tax bill in U.S. history, according to CNBC. But Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is still going after him.
“This deal is dangerous for our democracy. Billionaires like Elon Musk play by a different set of rules than everyone else, accumulating power for their own gain. We need a wealth tax and strong rules to hold Big Tech accountable,” Warren tweeted.

’11 Billion’ was trending on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. Check out some of the tweets:
Elon Musk paid more taxes than anyone in history, maybe the government should use that $11 billion to end world hunger and worry less about Twitter.

"He could end world hunger with just $6 billion!"
The man paid $11 billion to the government, and instead of "ending world hunger" twice over according to that metric, it just disappeared into the aether never to be seen again.
How about you get mad about that?

Instead of cherry picking Elon Musk and his share in taxes, $11 billion paid last year by the way or the massive donation ($5.7 billion) to charities. Maybe investigate how much elected officials pay or where their money comes from.

11 Billion (most ever paid) wasn't enough? And he didn't have an actual income in 2018. If you are supporting Tax on unrealized gains then you have to support to credit unrealized losses. pic.twitter.com/1NQ5GquBxV

I love that you’re leaving out that he paid 11 billion in 2021. Doesn’t fit your narrative though, right? So just leave it out? Without being able to censor others it’s going to be harder to get away with things like that.

Musk shared the tax bill news late last year:
For those wondering, I will pay over $11 billion in taxes this year
