'ARROGANT. SELFISH. NARCISSISTIC.': Smollett Gets 150 Days, Blasted By Judge for 'Craving Attention'

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.11.22

Disgraced actor Jussie Smollett will serve 150 days in jail, followed by 30 months probation; he also has to pay $120,000 in restitution and $25,000 in fines, according to the judge’s sentencing on Thursday. Smollett was charged with five orders of disorderly conduct relating to his infamous false hate crime report.

“Smollett told police on January 29, 2019, that he was attacked by two men in Chicago at 2 a.m. who he claimed made racist and homophobic slurs, wrapped a rope around his neck and poured an ‘unknown substance’ on him, and yelled this is ‘MAGA country,'” the Daily Caller recapped.

The judge called Smollett “profoundly arrogant and selfish and narcissistic,” adding “that’s the only thing that can be concluded.”

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was pleased with the sentence, blasting Smollett for wasting valuable resources.

“The criminal conviction of Jussie Smollett by a jury of his peers and today’s sentencing should send a clear message to everyone in the City of Chicago that false claims and allegations will not be tolerated,” Lightfoot said in a statement after Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail by a Chicago judge.

“The malicious and wholly fabricated claim made by Mr. Smollett resulted in over 1500 hours of police work that cost the City over $130,000 in police overtime,” she went on. “The City feels vindicated in today’s ruling that he is being held accountable and that we will appropriately receive restitution for his actions.”
