During the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Maryland, Peach State Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted the Democrats for labeling her “extreme” over her Protecting Children’s Innocence Act.
The bill makes it a felony to provide “gender-affirming care” to children under the age of 18.
“So last Congress, I did something radical and extreme, because remember, Marjorie Taylor Greene is so extreme, called the Protect Children’s Innocence Act,” Greene said Friday. “It couldn’t pass last Congress because, like I said, Nancy Pelosi was the speaker of the House, and she doesn’t believe in gender at all. But we have a good speaker in our Republican majority in the House of Representatives, and I’m going to be introducing my bill, the Protect Children’s Innocence Act, that will make it a felony to perform anything to do with gender-affirming care.”

The bill would make prescribing hormone replacement therapy or performing surgeries such as mastectomies or genital reconstructions on youths who believe their gender doesn’t match their biological sex a Class C felony, which carries 10 to 25 years in prison or a $250,000 fine.
Greene introduced the bill last Congress with the help of Chloe Cole, an activist who detransitioned after taking testosterone, puberty blockers, and receiving a double mastectomy between the ages of 12 and 17. Cole appeared on the panel following Greene’s speech, where she spoke about her experience along with former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines, who had to compete against biological males.
