DeSantis has dropped out — but might there be a place for him in a future Trump admin? Trump says it’s “unlikely” but leaves the door open to a potential spot for the Florida governor.
“It’s probably unlikely but you know, I have to be honest, everything is a possibility, but I think it’s highly unlikely,” Trump, 77, told Fox News’ Lawrence Jones in an interview that aired Monday morning.
“I have a lot of great people. And I have great people that have been with me right from the beginning,” he said, noting that he still appreciated DeSantis’ endorsement.
Trump officially retired the nickname Ron “DeSanctimonious” after receiving the Sunshine State Gov’s endorsement over the weekend.
“Okay, you just said ‘Will I be using the name Ron DeSanctimonious?’ I said that name is officially retired!” Trump told a reporter and an excited crowd over the weekend.
The crowd erupted, with one man screaming “Let’s go, Trump!”
