New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand refused to say Tuesday morning whether she was planning a run against Donald Trump in 2020; saying she may be “called” to do so and will have to “think long and hard about” a potential bid for the White House.
The left-wing legislator was speaking with MSNBC News when she was asked to comment on her political ambitions going forward; confirming she may run because of a “moral conviction.”
“And so, for me the sole thing I have to consider, that I have to think long and hard about is whether this is what I’m called to do,” Gillibrand said. “And otherwise, I will continue to fight as hard as I can for New Yorkers and be a voice for them in Washington and fight for the middle-class families that are desperate and need health care as a right and all the other issues that are pressing on families in my state.”
GILLIBRAND GOES OFF: NY Senator Slams Trump for ‘NOT ACKNOWLEDGING’ Her Hard Work
Ultra-liberal New York Senator and potential 2020 challenger Kirsten Gillibrand unloaded on President Trump this week; slamming the Commander-in-Chief after he questioned her ability to “get things done” in Congress during a fiery speech.
The President called out Gillibrand during a televised address in Utica, New York Monday; asking the crowd “Has she gotten anything done?”
Gillibrand fired-back on social media just hours later, saying “The President refuses to acknowledge the work I’ve gotten done. Sound familiar, ladies?”

DACA DELUSION: Kirsten Gillibrand Says ‘Chain Migration’ is a ‘RACIST SLUR’
New York Senator and possible 2020 presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand continued her crusade against President Trump’s proposed immigration overhaul on Monday; telling television viewers that the term “chain migration” is somehow a “racist slur” against immigrants and foreigners.
Gillibrand was speaking with ‘The View’ when she unloaded on the President’s proposal to provide a pathway to citizenship for nearly 2 million ‘Dreamers’ in exchange for ending “chain migration” and increased funding for his border wall.
“Do you agree with Nancy Pelosi when she says Trump wants to ‘Make America White Again’ and that’s what this is all about?” asked co-host Joy Behar.
“I think a lot of President Trump’s rhetoric is racist. Let’s be very clear: When someone uses the phrase chain migration it is intentional in trying to demonize families, literally trying to demonize families and make it a racist slur, it is not right. We have to change the debate” Gillibrand said.
