A recent poll among registered Democrats is shedding new light on the current state of the 2020 election, with data showing the party wants “someone new” at the top of the ticket followed by former Vice President Joe Biden.
According to USA Today, the survey shows a majority of Democrats, approximately 59%, said they would be “excited” about “someone entirely new” to run against Donald Trump in 2020.
Biden was a close second with 53% saying they’d be “excited.”
Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton found herself at the bottom of the list, with just 15% saying they’d like to see the former Secretary of State take-on President Trump a second time.
“Hillary Clinton, 71, won the popular vote against Trump two years ago, but lost the Electoral College. She had the steepest climb of all: 15 percent would be excited if she ran again – a number swamped by the 70 percent who said she shouldn’t,” writes USA Today.

BETO RISING: O’Rourke LEADS in New Democrat Poll, Tops Biden, Bernie
Beto O’Rourke topped a list of likely Democratic presidential candidates in a stunning new poll released Tuesday; beating Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden by a slim margin.
The poll, published by NBC News, show Beto leading the pack with 15.6%, Biden at 14.9%, and Bernie Sanders at 13.1%.
29 percent of those asked said they were undecided at the time of the survey.
“It’s another sign of O’Rourke’s surprising popularity among national Democrats and a potentially troubling indication for Sanders, whom MoveOn endorsed in the 2016 Democratic primary. That year, 78 percent of MoveOn members voted to back Sanders over Hillary Clinton,” writes NBC News.
The three likely candidates were followed by Sen. Kamala Harris, Warren, Sherrod Brown, Klobuchar, and Cory Booker.

DEMOCRAT DISASTER: Poll Shows 69% of Americans OPPOSED to Abolishing ICE
A stunning new poll conducted by a longtime Clinton insider may spell disaster for the Democrats heading into the 2018 midterm elections; revealing a whopping majority of Americans are opposed to abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
The survey -conducted by Democratic pollster Mark Penn- shows most voters are in favor of stricter border controls, think those arrested while in the United States illegally should be sent back to their home countries, and largely support ICE agents enforcing federal law.
“Penn polled the newest progressive immigration proposal, the ‘Abolish ICE’ campaign to disband U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Sixty-nine percent of those surveyed (78 percent of Republicans, 59 percent of Democrats, and 73 percent of independents) said ICE should not be abolished, while 31 percent said it should,” writes the Washington Examiner.
A growing number of leading Democrats -including NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and others- have called for the abolishment of ICE in recent weeks, saying the agency was “broken” and failed to represent the values of the United States.
