Former ‘Today’ show co-host Katie Couric blew the whistle on disgraced NBC News anchor Matt Lauer back in 2012, telling a live television audience that the iconic reporter “pinches me on the a** a lot.”
Couric was speaking with Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” roughly five-years ago when she was asked to comment on her experience working on the ‘Today’ show alongside Lauer for over fifteen years.
“You co-hosted the ‘Today’ show with Matt Lauer for fifteen years, what is Matt’s most annoying habit?” asked Cohen.
“Um… he pinches me on the a** a lot,” said Couric in a half-joking tone.
Her comments raise serious questions over Lauer’s behavior and the network’s knowledge of his sexual misconduct. The NBC News star was abruptly fired Wednesday over allegations he “acted inappropriately” towards at least one female co-worker.
