Senior White House advisor Kellyanne Conway took CNN to task on Friday, unloading on the network for its refusal to cover Hillary Clinton’s spiraling scandal surrounding the Uranium One deal; saying the news outlet won’t mention the story now that the “shoe is on the other foot.”
“What is it that worries the President about the Uranium deal?” asked CNN’s Alisyn Camerota. “Why now the fixation on the Uranium One deal.”
“The President is not worried about Uranium One. The people that should be worried are the people that benefited from it,” fired-back Conway. “His spouse didn’t make a half a million-dollar speech in Russia while he was Secretary of State. He wasn’t President at the time when Russian folks were trying to infiltrate the State Department and get an advantage for this particular deal.”
“He wants the informant to testify, so clearly he has some interest in what went on,” pressed the CNN host.
“Shouldn’t you? Shouldn’t we all? CNN is so vested in Russia, Russia, Russia. Don’t you want to hear from everybody now? Or are we just going to drop the word ‘Russia’ now because it gets just a little too close,” said Kellyanne. “We can’t get all of you that have been obsessed about Russia to cover it now that the shoe is on the other foot.”
