Dodge. Duck. Dip. Dive. Dodge.
During a debate this week, Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Virginia, Abigail Spanberger, repeatedly dodged questions on whether or not she would still endorse AG candidate Jay Jones after violent texts were uncovered where Jones spoke about killing a political opponent and suggesting his children should die.
Dems have remained largely silent on the issue.
“Will you continue to endorse Jay Jones to be the next Attorney General of Virginia and were you aware of these text messages before they were released?” the moderator asked.
“It appears that those who released the text messages held them for years,” Spanberger said. The public was unaware of who had knowledge of these text messages. I learned of these text messages the day that they came out, and I denounced them as soon as I learned of them.”
“Importantly, as we move forward, the voters now have this information — information that was withheld from them … the voters now have the information and it’s up to the voters to make an individual choice based on this information,” Spanberger said, dodging the question.
Spanberger’s opponent, Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, repeatedly tried to jump in and pressure Spanberger to answer.
“I understand what you’re saying about the voters, but for you yourself — do you continue to endorse Jay Jones: yes or no?” the moderator followed up.
“We are all running our individual races … and it’s up to every person to make their own decision. I’m running my race to serve Virginia, and that’s what I intend to do,” Spanberger said, dodging once more.
“Thank you, Ms. Spanberger. We just want to clarify that, as of now, you still support Jay Jones as Attorney General,” the moderator said, once more trying to get an answer.
“I’m saying as of now, it’s up to every voter to make their own, individual decision,” Spanberger said, refusing to answer the question.

Spanberger is like Kamala. No talent. No charisma. No ability to be a leader. Rose to the position she finds herself in as purely a creation of the Democratic Party machine. https://t.co/x0pWveMzYI

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin on Monday renewed his call for Democrat Jay Jones to drop out of the state attorney general race after resurfaced 2022 texts showed Jones wishing death on a GOP rival and his children.
“This is beyond disqualifying,” Youngkin said on Fox & Friends. “The Democrats have to come together and figure out where their moral compass is, because they don’t have one right now… this is a ticket allowing someone to stay on who wants children to die, and I can’t believe Virginians for a second will allow this to happen.”
