CNN Senior Data Analyst Harry Enten shared a CNN poll this week that found only 29% of Democrats are extremely proud to be American, compared to 90% of Republicans.
“This, to me, is one of the most stunning divides that we have seen,” Enten said. “It even comes down to what you believe July Fourth actually is.”
Enten says Republicans feel the Fourth is to celebrate with America. Democrats, on the other hand, think it’s a holiday for friends and family time.
The GOP and the Dems are also split on the American Flag.
Only 27% of Democrats say they will fly the Stars and Stripes on the Fourth.
And are Democrats “proud to be an American?”
No. Not even close.
