THE RUNOFF RACE IS ON! Pratt Promises ‘Best Team’ As Bass Faces New Challenger

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.03.26

From reality TV to a potential City Hall showdown, Spencer Pratt says he’s already looking ahead to November.

The celebrity candidate struck a confident tone Tuesday night as election results showed him comfortably in second place behind incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, positioning him for what political observers increasingly see as a likely runoff matchup.

“She knows it’s on. I hope she’s ready,” Pratt said.

Far from acting surprised by his performance, Pratt projected confidence about the road ahead and argued that voters are responding to his outsider message.

“I literally could not be more excited,” he said. “I am ready for whatever God puts in front of me.”

While ballots are still being counted, Pratt remained ahead of socialist City Councilmember Nithya Raman, strengthening the possibility of a two-person race against Bass this fall.

The strong showing marks a remarkable rise for a candidate many initially dismissed as a celebrity long shot.

Pratt said the next five months will be spent assembling what he described as a world-class governing team.

“We have five months to put the best team the city could ever dream of,” he said.

He added that a prolonged runoff campaign would give supporters and potential allies more time to publicly join his effort.

“We’ll see who is ready to come forward because retaliation is a real thing with Bass,” Pratt said.

Pratt also argued that his campaign is attracting support from across the political spectrum, including Democrats frustrated with the city’s current direction.

“I think the next five months I’m going to have time to build out this team to show the level of Democratic supporters I have behind me,” he said.

Throughout the evening, Pratt repeatedly framed his candidacy as a rejection of traditional politics.

“At the end of the day, what’s been resonating is that people just want the truth and they want to know somebody’s heart,” he said.

The reality television star said voters are eager to hear from someone outside the political establishment.

“I try to be as true to my authentic self and I just believe a lot of Los Angeles is so excited to hear from a non-politician,” Pratt said.

Hannity’s Highlights

Spencer Pratt finished second behind Mayor Karen Bass on election night — the celebrity challenger cleared the field and punched his ticket to what is shaping up as a two-person race.

A Bass-Pratt November runoff is now the most likely outcome — with no candidate breaking 50%, the general election matchup increasingly looks like a foregone conclusion.

Pratt says his outsider message is resonating with voters — the first-time candidate is leaning into his non-politician identity as the core argument for why Los Angeles needs a different kind of leader.

Pratt is already looking past the primary — he plans to spend the next five months assembling a governing team and broadening his coalition ahead of the November showdown with Bass.

He also cast himself as a fighter willing to challenge City Hall on behalf of frustrated residents.

“They want somebody to speak the truth for their communities and fight for them,” Pratt said. “They want a fighter that’s going to step up when the city fails them or their elected leaders fail them and I’m ready to be that person for Los Angeles.”

Pratt pushed back against suggestions that his mayoral campaign is little more than a celebrity experiment, insisting he intends to prove he is ready for the job.

“I’m going to prove to everybody this is for real and I’m ready to run this city,” he said.

Before wrapping up, Pratt thanked the online supporters who helped fuel his unexpected rise.

“Thank you for everybody who fights for me in the comments section, people all over the United States who used to live in LA,” he said.
