IT GETS EVEN WORSE! Resurfaced Reddit Post Shows Platner Mocking Purple Heart Recipient — 'Dumb Motherf--ker Didn't Deserve to Live'

Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner is facing renewed backlash after a resurfaced Reddit post tied to his deleted account appeared to mock a U.S. soldier who was nearly killed during combat in Afghanistan.

The controversy centers on a 2019 comment posted by the Reddit account “P-Hustle,” which Platner has acknowledged owning.

“This video never gets old,” the account wrote in response to a viral helmet-cam video showing then-Pfc. Ted Daniels under Taliban fire during a 2012 firefight in Afghanistan.

Daniels was shot four times during the battle and later received a Purple Heart for his injuries.

The post then launched into a profanity-laced attack on Daniels, calling him a “dumb motherf—–” who “didn’t deserve to live” and claiming “poor marksmanship on the Taliban’s part” was the only reason he survived.

Although the original Reddit comment was deleted, it remains archived in the Maine Monitor’s database tracking Platner’s deleted Reddit history.

Daniels has previously spoken publicly about the incident, explaining that he intentionally exposed himself to enemy fire in an effort to draw Taliban fire away from other soldiers in his unit.

While Daniels later admitted the move was not tactically sound, he defended the decision by saying, “I put my a– on the line for other guys.”

The resurfaced comments are creating fresh headaches for Platner’s campaign as Republicans and fellow veterans pile on criticism.

“We don’t make jokes about our brothers and sisters dying, that’s not something we do, that’s not normal,” Adam Schwarze, a former Navy SEAL and Marine veteran running for Senate in Minnesota, told Fox News Digital.

Schwarze acknowledged that Marines often use dark humor privately when discussing combat situations, but argued Platner’s comments crossed a line.

“We don’t post about our brothers getting wounded in action,” he said.

Schwarze also criticized other alleged posts from Platner’s Reddit account attacking police officers, including one stating “all police are bastards.”

“I think it’s very dangerous to say, ‘Hey, this is how veterans think and talk’ because that’s just not true,” Schwarze said.

“I served 21 years, nine deployments, I don’t know one combat veteran who makes comments like cops are bastards.”

The former SEAL went further, telling Fox News Digital he believes Platner has “mental issues.”
