The truth is finally getting daylight.
The Trump administration on Friday released a batch of “never-before-seen” files, photos and videos on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, opening a new front in President Donald Trump’s push to drag long-hidden government records into public view.
The release is part of Trump’s Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, or PURSUE, a transparency initiative involving the White House, Department of War, FBI, NASA, Department of Energy, ODNI and other agencies.
“The latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents from across the entire United States government are all in one place — no clearance required,” the White House said in a statement to Fox News.
The first tranche includes Apollo-era photos and transcripts, including material from the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 missions. Fox News reported that one Apollo 17 transcript describes “jagged, angular fragments” seen from the spacecraft.
One released image from the lunar surface appears to show three tiny dots in the sky, while other photos reportedly include UAPs appearing in the same frame as U.S. aircraft around New Year’s Eve 1999.
The administration says the release is only the beginning.
The New York Post reported that the Pentagon released 162 UFO-related files covering sightings over roughly 80 years, after Trump’s earlier order to begin identifying and releasing government records tied to UFOs, UAPs and extraterrestrial life.
Trump previewed the move in February after former President Barack Obama claimed on a podcast that aliens were real.
“He gave classified information. He’s not supposed to be doing that,” Trump said at the time. “I don’t know if they’re real or not. I can tell you, he gave classified information.”
Days later, Trump announced on Truth Social that he was directing the Secretary of War and other agencies to begin identifying and releasing files related to “alien and extraterrestrial life,” UAPs and UFOs.
“We’re going to be releasing a lot of things that we haven’t,” Trump told reporters earlier this week. “I think some of it’s going to be very interesting to people.”
Still, experts have urged caution. AP noted that earlier Pentagon reviews found hundreds of UAP incidents, but no confirmed evidence of recovered alien technology or extraterrestrial life.
