During an awards dinner in Beverly Hills, a saxophonist seated just feet away from Kamala Harris appeared to fall asleep as she delivered remarks critical of the Trump administration.
The incident occurred at the William O. Douglas Award Dinner, hosted by Public Counsel, where Harris was being honored and participated in an onstage conversation.
Video captured by an attendee and later circulated online shows the musician with eyes closed and head down for nearly a minute.
The moment unfolded as Harris warned about threats to election integrity, saying people would “take to the streets” if elections were canceled.
She went on to argue that political efforts were underway to make voting more difficult and criticized what she described as a “corrupt, incompetent, callous administration” in the White House.
The saxophonist appeared to rouse himself shortly after.
