A tongue-in-cheek idea is suddenly part of a very real political conversation.
President Donald Trump signaled support for renaming Immigration and Customs Enforcement to “NICE,” amplifying a social media suggestion that would rebrand the agency as the “National Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
Trump reposted the idea—“I want Trump to change ICE to NICE … so the media has to say NICE agents all day everyday”—and responded on Truth Social: “GREAT IDEA!!! DO IT. President DJT.”
🚨 LMAO! President Trump is FULLY BACKING changing ICE to NICE (National Immigration and Customs Enforcement), so that the media will start having to call them “NICE AGENTS” 🤣
“GREAT IDEA!!! DO IT. President DJT”

It wouldn’t be the first time Trump has embraced outside input for policy or messaging.
His “no tax on tips” push, according to former adviser Stephen Moore, originated from a conversation with a waitress.
“I asked Trump about this … he said a waitress,” Moore said on Fox Business. “He asked a waitress in a restaurant about how can I help you and she said ‘don’t tax my tips.’ And that was the start of a great policy that is very popular with the American people.”
“GREAT IDEA!!! DO IT.”
