President Donald Trump signaled Wednesday that a second round of talks with Iran could be imminent, raising the prospect of a rapid return to negotiations after days of military tension.
“Good news” could arrive as soon as Friday, according to U.S. and Pakistani sources familiar with the ongoing backchannel efforts.
Asked directly about the possibility, Trump kept it short and open-ended.

Sources in Islamabad say renewed mediation efforts with Tehran could yield talks within the next 36 to 72 hours — a window that reflects accelerating diplomatic activity behind the scenes.
That push comes just one day after Trump moved to extend the current ceasefire, citing Iran’s fractured leadership and the need for a unified negotiating position.
