A street interview meant to challenge support for President Donald Trump’s Iran policy didn’t go as planned for Don Lemon.
The former CNN anchor has been filming a series of street interviews in New York City focused on the escalating U.S.–Iran conflict, asking passersby for their views on the war and Trump’s handling of it.
But in one now-viral exchange circulating across social media, the response flipped the script.
Instead of delivering criticism, the interviewee — described in widely shared clips as having family ties to Iran — expressed support for action against the regime, pointing to personal or family experience living under the country’s ruling system.
“I’m Persian. I support Donald Trump 100%. The Islamic regime kills women. They killed 50,000 people in two days. A lot of them believe in death to all Americans. I 100% support Trump,”
“My dad grew up in Iran. He had to flee the country when he was 14. I fully support Donald Trump with bombing the Supreme Leader,” the interviewee told Lemon.
