U.S. officials announced Friday that a suspect accused of involvement in the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attack is now in U.S. custody, marking the latest arrest tied to the assault that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Fox News identified the suspect as Zubayr al-Bakoush, describing him as “one of the leaders” of the Benghazi attack, and reported the arrest was announced by Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

Patel also posted on X that the FBI and partners executed an arrest of “Zubayr al-Bakoush” in connection with the 2012 Benghazi attack.
