GREENLAND GRAB! Trump Trolls European Leaders, Shares AI Shot Planting Flag — 'Est. 2026'

President Trump kicked off Davos week with a Cold War-style troll — and European leaders took the bait.

Early Tuesday, Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself planting a U.S. flag on Greenland, flanked by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

In the picture, a sign declares Greenland a “US territory est. 2026.”

Then came the sequel.

Trump posted another AI image showing European leaders — including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni — gathered around a map in the Oval Office.

On that map? Greenland, Canada, and Venezuela absorbed into the U.S.

And Trump wasn’t just posting memes. He doubled down Tuesday on his push to acquire Greenland, saying there was “no going back” — and refusing to rule out taking the Arctic territory by force.

Next, Trump went full receipts-mode. He shared screenshots of private text messages from Macron and Rutte, praising him for foreign-policy wins in Syria and beyond — with Rutte sounding like he’d joined the fan club.

“Mr President, dear Donald — what you accomplished in Syria today is incredible,” Rutte also gushed in another text exchange, according to a screenshot shared by Trump.

“I will use my media engagements in Davos to highlight your work there, in Gaza, and in Ukraine. I am committed to finding a way forward on Greenland. Can’t wait to see you. Yours, Mark,” the message concludes.

Trump announced plans to impose 10% tariffs on eight European countries that recently deployed troops to Greenland, starting Feb. 1 — with a threat to jack them up to 25% if he doesn’t get the icy island by June.
