Fox News has learned that Justice Department officials in Miami and Washington, D.C. are now actively preparing a wave of grand jury subpoenas tied to the ongoing federal investigation into the onetime spy chief.
The probe is being supervised by Jason Reding Quiñones, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, signaling that the case has entered a more aggressive phase.
The move marks the latest escalation in a widening investigation that already includes former FBI Director James Comey, who is set to stand trial in January.
Brennan, so far, has not been indicted, and it remains unclear whether a grand jury will ultimately take that step — but evidence is expected to be presented in South Florida, raising the stakes for the longtime intelligence official.
