The retirement of Nancy Pelosi is a great thing for America. She was evil. Corrupt. And only focused on bad things for our country. She was rapidly losing control of her party. And it was never coming back. I’m very honored she impeached me twice and failed miserably twice. Nancy Pelosi is a highly overrated politician.”

The former House Speaker and Democratic powerhouse announced Thursday she will not seek reelection, officially closing the book on one of the most polarizing — and powerful — runs in congressional history.
“I want you, my fellow San Franciscans, to be the first to know I will not be seeking re-election to Congress,” Pelosi, 85, said in a video message to constituents.
The announcement follows days of speculation that Pelosi, a fixture of Democratic politics since the Reagan era, was preparing to bow out after Tuesday’s off-year elections.
