According to a Fox News report, NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani’s political ascent involved $2.5M in Soros funding and ties to controversial imams.
A bombshell database of 110 groups backing Mamdani reveals a powerful inner circle of Muslim and socialist organizations working in lockstep with 76 Democratic affiliates, unions, and party allies — a machine built to push the far-left’s agenda straight into City Hall.
At the center of the web: Linda Sarsour’s MPower network and its close partner Emgage, two groups that have quietly become the backbone of Mamdani’s political rise.
According to tax filings reviewed by Fox News Digital, billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations have poured nearly $2.5 million into MPower and Emgage in recent years — fueling the same advocacy machine now boosting Mamdani’s mayoral run.
An Open Society spokesperson insisted the grants were “nonpartisan” and “occurred years before the mayoral race,” saying they support civic engagement and efforts to counter discrimination. But the money trail tells a different story — one that connects the world’s most famous political donor to New York’s most radical campaign.
The network’s reach runs deep: a tight circle of 30 ethnic and religious groups, including CAIR Action, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim Action Coalition, the Yemeni American Merchants Association, the Bangladeshi American Advocacy Group, and Desis Rising Up and Moving (DRUM) — all coordinating canvassing, endorsements, and online messaging to boost Mamdani’s candidacy.
Together, they control roughly $24 million in annual revenue, deploying that clout in a citywide ground game that’s turned the Democratic Socialists of America’s fringe ideas into a polished, media-savvy movement.
