FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed Tuesday that multiple individuals are under investigation — and some already interrogated — for discussing Charlie Kirk’s assassination in a Discord “chatroom.”
“Did Mr. Kirk’s assassin act alone?” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) asked Patel during testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“There are a number of individuals that are currently being investigated and interrogated — and a number yet to be investigated and interrogated related to that chatroom,” Patel responded.
“So others could have been involved?” Kennedy pressed.
“Yes, sir,” Patel replied.
Earlier in the hearing, Patel told Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) that the Discord channel had far more users than previously reported.
“I see the public reports that the Discord thread had as many as 20 additional users,” Hawley said.
“It’s a lot more than that,” Patel answered. “We’re running them all down.”
