STAY PUT: Trump Warns Senate 'NO ONE GOES ON VACATION' Until Big, Beautiful Bill Passed

Hey, Congress — get the job done.

President Trump issued a sharp message to congressional Republicans Tuesday: “No one goes on vacation” until his “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” crosses the finish line. He set the Senate’s deadline firmly for this week.

Trump’s demand came as Republicans found themselves bogged down in internal wrangling over the bill’s core provisions, just days before their scheduled recess for the July 4th holiday.

Trump’s full message from TRUTH Social below:

Now that we have made PEACE abroad, we must finish the job here at home by passing “THE GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL,” and getting the Bill to my desk, ASAP. It will be a Historic Present for THE GREAT PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as we begin the Celebration of our Country’s 250th Birthday. We are finally entering our Golden Age, which will bring unprecedented Safety, Security, and Prosperity for ALL of our Citizens. To my friends in the Senate, lock yourself in a room if you must, don’t go home, and GET THE DEAL DONE THIS WEEK. Work with the House so they can pick it up, and pass it, IMMEDIATELY. NO ONE GOES ON VACATION UNTIL IT’S DONE. Everyone, most importantly the American People, will be much better off thanks to our work together. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Once the measure clears the Senate, it faces another round in the House before landing on Trump’s desk.GOP leaders quickly backed Trump’s stance: no lawmakers leave town for the July 4th recess until Congress sends the act to the President’s desk.

“We will remain here until this reconciliation bill is passed,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) said. “By placing it on President Trump’s desk by the 4th of July, we will be ensuring that future generations of Americans can live in safety and prosperity.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) also privately told Republicans in the lower chamber to keep their schedules flexible amid negotiations for the megabill.
